Hazard Brothers Absent in 2020 European Cup Qualifiers

Belgium is confirmed without Eden Hazard and Thorgan Hazard in the 2020 European Cup Qualifiers this week. This duo of brothers and sisters must be absent because of an injury.

This was announced by the Belgian national team through their official Twitter account. Eden and Thorgan will be absent when De Rode Duivels faces San Marino (7/9/2019) and Scotland (9/10/2019).

"Eden Hazard and Thorgan Hazard have been dropped from the team. Both suffered injuries and were unable to play against San Marino and Scotland," wrote the Belgian national team.
Hazard, who moved from Chelsea to Real Madrid this season, is still struggling with a hamstring injury. This injury is precisely what made him have to postpone his debut at LaLiga.

The 28-year-old was originally summoned by Roberto Martinez ahead of the 2020 European Cup Qualifiers. At the beginning of Hazard's call, Zinedine Zidane had already confirmed that his winger would not be fit enough to play.

Los Blancos coach's statement has now become a reality with the removal of Hazard. A similar fate was experienced by Thorgan, who is the younger brother of Hazard.

The Borussia Dortmund midfielder suffered a rib injury when Die Borussen faced FC Koln in the third week of the Bundesliga. These conditions make Martinez also forced to repatriate him.

The former Everton coach will not call in a new player to replace the Hazard brothers. He is still quite confident in his current squad.

Belgium itself is now top of Group I in the 2020 European Cup Qualifiers. They won a perfect score of 12 points from four matches.
