Gareth Southgate regrets the individual mistakes of the English team
England national team coach, Gareth Southgate, warned his players not to make mistakes that could hurt the team. England's match is not fully stable in Euro 2020 qualifiers this time.
Recently, England defeated Kosovo 5-3 Wednesday (11/09/2019) in the morning. The win should have made Southgate happy, but in reality, he highlighted his team's mistakes.
Imagine, England conceded just 35 seconds after the start of the match. The Southgate side then scored five goals in the first period and conceded two more goals in the second half.
For Southgate, the match was rather strange. Read the full review below, Bolaneters!
Southgate certainly praised his team's response after a bad start, but he thinks their defense has made too many individual mistakes. This deficiency can certainly be a big problem.
"This game is strange, negative aspects and important aspects seem very clear to everyone, we made individual mistakes that were bad and did not perform well at the beginning of the game," Southgate told Sky Sports.
"However, we showed positive calm to correct this error and we played very well in the first half."
In addition, Southgate regretted having conceded the second and third of his team. With a 5-1 win, England should have been able to maintain concentration and end their opponent's fight, but they were negligent and conceded two other goals.
"This match should have been finished in the first round (score 5 to 1), of course, but when a team starts to lose their lead, different feelings about the game emerge and our opponents can then play freely and try," Southgate continued.
"We can only blame ourselves for this situation, it was a bad mistake, not a team error, but an individual error and the wrong decision making."
