Coutinho sought Firmino's advice before joining Bayern
Munich - Before joining Bayern Munich, Phillipe Coutinho had received many contributions from Roberto Firmino. He also received support from manager Juergen Klopp.
Coutinho is currently in his first season in Germany, on loan from Bayern to Barcelona. The 27-year-old has signed a contract with the Allianz Arena for one season with a loan fee of 8.5 million euros (Rp. 131.5 billion).
During the summer transfer period, the Brazilian left Barcelona. Coutinho finally chose to pay Die Roten among various offers from big European clubs.
To simplify the adaptation process in Germany, Coutinho said he was asking for advice from Firmino, his teammate from the Brazilian national team. The 27-year-old played in the Bundesliga with Hoffenheim for four and a half years before defending Liverpool starting in 2015.
"I spoke with Roberto Firmino about the intensity of the Bundesliga and the fierce competition in Germany," Coutinho told SportBild. "He tells a lot about the differences between the Bundesliga teams."
"I played at Liverpool for a while and I realized from the first time I lost to Bayern, if the match in Germany was as strong as in England, more than the match in Spain and Brazil, it was good for me," said Coutinho.
Besides Firmino, Coutinho also received support from his former manager at Liverpool, Juergen Klopp. The German coach has claimed to be satisfied with the transfer of players from the Brazilian national team to Bayern.
"Klopp sent me a message and wishes me every success, saying that if Bayern is a big club and the Bundesliga is a big league, they are happy to play it," Coutinho said.
