Although now he wallows in wealth, Cristiano Ronaldo has been through hard times. Edna calls often giving him burgers when launched in professional soccer players.
Edna did it when Ronaldo was early in his career with the youth team from Sporting Lisbon. With a poor family, Ronaldo is often difficult for their daily needs. From there, Edna often gave him hamburger consumption.
"When I was young, around 11-12 years old, we didn't have money. We live together with other players, young players from Sporting Lisbon," Ronaldo told ITV Football5Star.com quoted ESPN FC.
"I only meet my family in Madeira, every three months. This period is very difficult because I have no family," he said.
Often Ronaldo is hungry
Ronaldo's poor young treasures are often difficult to get money. So when he is hungry, he often comes to a restaurant near his house to meet Edna who works at the restaurant. Ronaldo asks for the rest of Edna's hamburgers.
"At midnight, around 10:30 or 11:00, we are a little hungry. So we go to McDonald's near the stadium where we are. We always have a back door and knock on the door and say, hey, there's a burger left," Ronaldo said.
"Edna and two other girls, they are amazing. I never saw again. I spoke with a number of people in Portugal to try to find them, because I could not find them," he said.
He now hopes to meet Edna and his friends. Ronaldo claimed to have to return their favor. The megastar is also invited to come at any time at his home in Turin or Lisbon for dinner.
"They closed McDonald's. But I hope this interview can help find that woman. I will be very happy because I want to invite them to Turin and Lisbon, to come to my house and have dinner with me," he said.
"I want to find them. I want to pay because I really enjoy this moment. I will never forget," he concluded.
