Sebastian Vettel suffered a severe sentence at Monza, his rival even protested

Lance Stroll, a Racing Point racer, defended Sebastian Vettel, who received a fair penalty in the race at the Italian Formula 1 Grand Prix on Sunday (9/9/19).

Vettel only got three penalty points after the incident with Stroll at the 2019 Italian Grand Prix at the Autodromo Nazionale circuit in Monza.

It all started with a car driven by a Ferrari driver who lost control and turned around in the seventh lap. However, trying to get back on track, Vettel's car nudged the Stroll car.

The incident was considered dangerous by the FIA and Vettel also received three penalty points, while Stroll was awarded two penalty points for incidents similar to Pierre Gasly (Toro Rosso).

In addition, Vettel also rated a stop and go 10-second penalty, while Lance Stroll was given a drive-through penalty or a time-reduction penalty for lowering the position for that race was still in progress.

But Stroll considers that Vettel should receive the same punishment as him, rather than receiving a tougher sentence.

We both have to be punished for passing cars. I do not know why different penalties must be imposed. "I think it's unfair because what he (Vettel) did is the same as mine," Stroll said, quoted by the Race Fans sports information page.

Sebastian Vettel's crash also means that whoever takes the start in fourth position must collapse and finish in 13th place. However, his team mate, Charles Leclerc, won the championship at Monza.
