Instead of Eriksen, MU prefers this young Leicester midfielder

Manchester United watches James Maddison on the stock market next summer. He is preferred by manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer than by Christian Eriksen.

The Leicester City midfielder is on the radar of buying Manchester United, who want to fill his team with local young players. Maddison fulfilled this criteria because he was only 22 years old.

Despite his young age, Maddison looked impressive with Fox by scoring seven goals and seven assists last season. He also joined the English team in the last two international matches against Bulgaria and Kosovo.

According to Metro, Solskjaer is targeting Maddison for the summer transfer market next year. The Norwegian manager wants even more former Norwich City players than Christian Eriksen, United's previous target.

The Tottenham Hotspur player was indeed mostly associated with Manchester United during the stock exchange last summer. But no agreement was found, so Eriksen stayed with Lilywhites at the start of the season.

United's desire to recruit Maddison is in line with the desire of players to play at the highest level. Earlier this month, he said he had a personal ambition to compete at the highest level in the future.

"I want to play at the highest level, my ability will enable me to do it," Maddison told the Daily Mirror.

"I like to think that I am good with the transfers that I have made, I played in League One (the English third division), in Scotland, in the league division and now in the Premier League. To continue to grow," he said.
