Puskas Prize 2019: Lionel Messi is challenged by Quintero and Zsori

Lionel Messi is one of the three main competitors for the 2019 Puskas Awards. Although he has been nominated many times, he has never won the Best Goal Award.

The Puskas Prize was awarded for the first time by FIFA in 2009 and Cristiano Ronaldo won it in this first edition. Now the Puskas Awards will enter the 11th edition.

The top three goals were chosen by the FIFA Jury, who presented 10 nominations. Three goals were scored by Lionel Messi, Juan Fernando Quintero and Daniel Zsori.

Lionel Messi has scored six times in the top 10 Puskas Awards winners, including one in the top three. Of all these opportunities, no goal has been given. Quintero and Zsori entered for the first time in the top 10 and the top three.

Messi's goal was to strengthen Barcelona against Real Betis in the Spanish League in March 2019. At that time, Argentina scored a goal by hitting a chip at the end of the penalty area.

For Quintero, his goal in the first three promises at Puskas was against Racing Club on 10 February 2019. He then scored with an indirect free kick.

Zsori's goal is no less cool than Messi and Quintero. The Debrecen player scored an acrobatic shot in front of the penalty box against Ferencvaros in February 2019.

Puskas Prize winners will be chosen after vote counting by members of the FIFA Legends jury. The name of the player who will win this victory will be announced at the FIFA Best Awards, which will be held in Milan (Italy) on 23 September 2019.
